This is my husband's Grandmother, Eileen McCormick. She is 91 years-old and is one of the sweetest ladies I know. As you can see, her smile lights up any room and her sense of humor is wonderful! Early this spring, we took Grandma to the mall so she could buy a new spring outfit or two (she's really a stylish gal and loves to go shopping.)  We planned to make a portrait of her one day soon. Well, I told her I wouldn't take "No" for an answer and she graciously agreed, as long as her hairdo was fresh!

In the weeks that followed, there wasn't a day where she felt good enough to have her portrait made. She was hospitalized for many days before returning to her assisted living apartment with hospice care and a steady stream of family and friends visiting.

It appeared that we had missed out on the opportunity to make a portrait of Grandma. But we were wrong!  Grandma was feeling well enough the other day to visit the beauty salon in her building and have her hair done. I jumped at the chance to photograph her that day! She looked like a million bucks and her smile was as bright as ever!

I am so excited to share these images with family members! I am so grateful that we were given the opportunity to capture the essence of Grandma! Let these images be a record and a lasting physical reminder of a strong, beautiful woman, whose strength and love knows no bounds. We celebrate you Grandma!

Meet Andy Thomas

At 99 years-old, Andy Thomas says he's "the luckiest man in the world," but those who know Andy are the lucky ones! Please take a minute to watch a Good Samaritan video that features him. We should all strive to be more like Andy!
