In the weeks that followed, there wasn't a day where she felt good enough to have her portrait made. She was hospitalized for many days before returning to her assisted living apartment with hospice care and a steady stream of family and friends visiting.
It appeared that we had missed out on the opportunity to make a portrait of Grandma. But we were wrong! Grandma was feeling well enough the other day to visit the beauty salon in her building and have her hair done. I jumped at the chance to photograph her that day! She looked like a million bucks and her smile was as bright as ever!
I am so excited to share these images with family members! I am so grateful that we were given the opportunity to capture the essence of Grandma! Let these images be a record and a lasting physical reminder of a strong, beautiful woman, whose strength and love knows no bounds. We celebrate you Grandma!
